Green Islands participates on EMD
Cecilia Wibjörn and Anna Ehn participated in the fifth European Maritime Day in Gothenburg May 22.
The European Maritime Day is celebrated annually in May since 2008. The purpose is to highlight the importance of the seas and oceans and the challenges facing maritime regions and sectors. Several events are organised across Europe and the main event is held in one place, in the form of a high level meeting and a stakeholder conference.
There were a lot of interesting workshops about blue innovations, marine littering and marine management.

About the project
The main goal of Green Islands is to improve the environmental conditions in the Baltic region. The project aims at achieving ‘greener’ islands by mapping, analyzing and evaluating the situation in terms of how solid waste is taken care of, energy and water consumption, and wastewater management on islands in Sweden, Finland, and Estonia.
